WIPO’s Contributions to International Cooperation on Intellectual Property

ABSTRACT The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has enhanced global cooperation in a key area of International Economic Law. In particular, WIPO’s international intellectual property (IP) treaties have done much to bridge the territorial nature IP with business needs innovators and brand owners who operate an interconnected economy. They also vividly illustrate benefits multilateral cooperation: can flow from anywhere everywhere, thus requiring truly approach toward cooperation. Here, we explain some practical Patent Cooperation Treaty, Madrid, Hague Systems, especially over last 25 years. Their success made these systems even more attractive users worldwide transformed filing mechanisms into endeavor.
